November 2014 was a fun and festive month! The highlights were a trip to our old neighborhood to see Mr. Ben, Mariela's favorite children's musician in Portland and a visit from Anma and Pop-pop! They treated us to a fun weekend at Skamania Lodge where we celebrated Thanksgiving and got into the Christmas spirit :) Thanks for the fun weekend and making the trip out to see us!!

| November 8th, at the Swap-and-Play's Jammin' in Our Jammies fundraiser. |
| November 20th, heading out on the town with her baby doll, "purse," and backpack :) | | |

November 22nd, I apologize that quality of this video is not very good. Mariela has been singing a lot of songs by herself but refuses to do so anytime I bring out the camera. Luckily this time she allowed Ben to video her while she and I sat under the table :)
| November 24th, in awe watching Mr. Ben play her favorite songs that she dances and jumps around to at home |
| This was Mr. Ben's last song and as far as Mariela got to dancing on the stage with the other kids |
| November 27th, in front of the beautiful Christmas tree at Skamania Lodge waiting for our turn to eat Thanksgiving dinner |
| Having fun exploring all the rocks and jumping off them with Pop-pop |
| November 28th, Mariela was in heaven eating pancakes with Anma on our trip into town to get swim diapers for the "warm pool" |
| "Calling" (we unplugged the phone) G.G. and Baba to tell them she was going to go swimming in the "warm pool" |
| She finally made it! Mariela talked about swimming in the "warm pool" from the time I told her we would be staying somewhere with a pool until she actually got into it, about 2 weeks :) After a very short warm up period she loved every minute of it! |
Dancing to the piano music before heading to dinner
| November 29th, Mariela is at the stage where she's insisting on doing EVERYTHING herself. Including carrying, or I should really say dragging, her own diaper bag ;) |
| While we were out for a walk around the Lodge grounds a large bird flew over our heads. Anma tried to help Mariela see the bird after he landed high up in the trees but bird didn't move so it was hard for Mariela to pick it out. |
| November 30th, at home helping us put up the Christmas decorations | | |

October 2014 . . . . . Lions and bees and cheerleaders, oh my! Mariela had quite the variety of options for Halloween this year. We didn't actually make it out trick-or-treating but she did end up wearing her lion costume at her daycare Halloween party for an hour or so. Other than that we had fun at our town's Harvest Festival and carving a pumpkin for the first time :)
| October 25th, picking out a pumpkin at our town's Harvest Festival |
| It took Mariela a little time to warm-up to the goats and lamas but once she did she didn't want to stop brushing them ;) |
| Helping cook pumpkin muffins |
| Pretending Mom was a horse and having SO much fun |
| October 26th, trying to figure out which Halloween costume to wear to daycare |
| Thanks to her Great Grandma Bonnie, Mariela had a wonderful time watching football and pretending she was a cheerleader. Not sure why she insisted on standing in the cooler but she loved it! |
| Checking out the insides of a pumpkin for the first time while FaceTiming with G.G. and Baba |
Mariela isn't a big fan of brushing her teeth so we resort to just about any kind of silliness or distraction in order to complete the process ;)
| October 31st, Mariela with Teacher Katie after she finally agreed to put on her lion costume for the costume parade at daycare |
| At the afternoon Halloween party which parents were invited to attend |
| Snack time with Teacher Erica |
| Waiting in line to go outside and pick a pumpkin |
| Having fun decorating the pumpkin she picked with stickers |
